These are the headlight buckets to hold the lamps, trim and wiring in the fender. The old ones have been sandblasted and powdercoated.

As was done in production, the chrome headlight trim needed to fit before paint, and filler added to build up the fender contours to match the edges of the chrome trim ring.

It would take several applications of filler that would be sanded to bring the fit of the trim to a smooth contor with the fender, then the protective tape is removed.

Such a fit - again this was done on every car rolling down the production line for 1953 to the end of 1955 model production.

Work continues on blending the body contour of the front fender to the headlight bezels.
